Over the past couple of weeks, Year 4 have been busy learning how to write newspaper reports.
We started by reading a variety of reports, analysing the key features and then practicing writing them. We started by thinking of a name for our newspaper and came up with some great ideas including ‘Wonka News’ and ‘The Chocolate Times’. We then used alliteration to try and create some snappy headlines to hook our readers in. ‘Five Fantastic Tickets Found!’ was a great example of this.
We have also learnt about the difference between direct and indirect speech and how we punctuate these.
The children have worked really hard, have shown brilliant creativity and we are looking forward to reading their independent versions later this week.
